04 01 2010 - And again...Oooppppssss

Sorry I missed again :)

03 31 2010 - Punch

I love this picture of my parent's dog Punch. His brother and long time companion had passed away before I grabbed this picture of him. His eyes were so expressive, I just love how he looks.

03 30 2010 - Old Building

This abandoned building mars downtown Montgomery, but there is something about it that always grabs my attention. It is just so messy.

03 29 2010 - Oops...I missed again!

No one said a 365 Photo blog would be easy!  I missed again :(

03 28 2010 - Tebow

Not a great picture, but I can not post one dog and not the other! These are my parent-in-law's children.

03 28 2010 - Spud

Getting doggies to pay you attention can be challenging, but that is the best part of using digital cameras - you can snap so many that would should get a good picture!

03 27 2010 - Simple Sailing

This is a simple fairly monochromatic photo, but I love the simplicity of it.

03 26 2010 - Sunset at Gantt Lake

I love sunset pictures. Setting up on a tripod and dragging your shutter speed can help you get enough light in to add a little depth to your picture.

03 24 2010 - At the Carwash

I don't know why, but I almost always have to pull my camera out when I am sitting in a car wash. It does not seem to make a great pic, so I do not know why I always do it. Hopefully this will be the only time I use one of these photos. Lesson to self - stop taking pictures of car washes and fire ;)

03 23 2010 - Behind on Reading

Okay, I am noticing a theme here - more books ;) Here is my bedside reading stack....I may be a little behind, but notice what is on top - it is my camera manual. This is always a great read. If you get a DSLR camera, make the manual part of your bedtime reading because you will be amazed how many tools are crammed in that little machine.

03 21 2010 - It's a Train...or not

The best part about a detour is that sometimes you come across things you other wise would not. This 'train' is one such example. While on a trip back from North Carolina, on a long interstate detour, my parents and I came across this old building that has been 'done up' to look like a train. Very creative!

03 20 2010 Fallon

This is my second cousin, Fallon Griffin. This picture was taken is a busy living room while she was being held by my mother. I got as close as I could with my 50 mm fixed and snapped this of her. I had my SB600 flash off to the side which lit just her and darkened the background.

03 19 2010 - Granddaddy

I got this picture of my Granddad when he was sitting outside enjoying his swing. He just watched me as I walked around snapping pictures. He seemed to enjoy having me take his picture. I love the simplicity and I may convert this to a simple black and white one day.

03 18 2010 - Hmmmm did I miss again

I did not think I missed the 18th, but...I sure can't find a pic for it.  Hmmmmm better check the point and shoot.

03 17 2010 - Sida in her Snuggie

Sida in her Snuggie, can I say anything else about this?

03 16 2010 - Callie, One Mad Cat

This is one of my two cats, Callie. She was a rescue (sort of...). The first time I put medicine on her, she got very upset about it so I decided it would be a great idea to make her more upset by photographing her. If looks could kill...

03 15 2010 - Tiny Daffodils

These tiny daffodils pop up in my yard every spring. They are very small and delicate and I love how they almost seem shy. I took this picture laying on the ground with my camera on the ground, slightly tilted to add a little angle to the shot. I had my aperture as low as it could go to blur the foreground and the background.

03 14 2010 Lake Martin

I popped off this shot on a cloudy day at Lake Martin off of a floating dock. There was enough light to get a pretty still shot while hand holding. I used a touch of RAW clean up to enhance it and clean it up a bit.

03 13 2010 - Seymore in RAW

This picture was taken quickly while one of my cats was playing in my kitchen, attacking some fishing line that was out. I grabbed my camera and snapped without taking time to really fix lighting (which is impossible sometimes in a pinch), but this is why I shoot in RAW format. I was able to recover the pic to a decent level.

03 12 2010 - Suprise in my camera bag

I try to always keep something interesting in my bag to grab kids (or pets) attention. Getting those little eyes to focus on an black lens is hard work and things like this help.

Just Keep Shooting

There are times as a photographer when it will all seem to go wrong and a good shot seems so elusive.  I had such a day today trying to get family Easter pictures.  Since I am the 'photographer' of the family, I am always pushing everyone to take family photos.  The pressure gets to me though sometimes, and I cannot get a good picture for anything.  It is easy to want to hang up the camera and give it up after such a day.  But I believe these are the moments that may make me a great photographer one day.  I did not shoot well today, but maybe tomorrow I will.

If you have a bad day shooting, do not give up and keep on trying.  That is how you get better and become the photographer you want to be!

Keep trying, keep shooting, and keep capturing moments.

God Bless

03 11 2010 - Oops I missed a day, but time to move!

I hate that I missed a day, but the 11th slipped by without a picture.  This was perfect time though because I am going to move my blog over to my fun site wwww.achievdreamsdaily.blogspot.com, so keep following there!

03 10 2010

How do you juggle it all? With balls of course. I attended a training course a few years ago and the teacher would juggle during the breaks. He taught me how to do it and I keep the juggling balls on my desk at home as a reminder of how to get everything done - just take each thing one at a time.

03 09 200 - Ready for Bed!

I was ready to go to bed and i took this picture. It captures that end of the day, settle in. I had my computer ready to go, that is the best way to wrap up the day.

03 07 2010

This is such a great sign of spring to come. This little bird was sitting on a fence at Cooters Pond. He was modeling and acting like he wanted his picture taken. What a little ham!

03 06 2010 - A Barn

Headed to Santuck (the best flea market around) we were stuck in traffic. I asked my Mom to crawl into the back of her Explorer to grab my camera because I loved this barn, especially the star. She did as I asked and I rolled down the window and starting snapping. Thank goodness for traffic!

03 05 2010 Sida...again

Okay, we have a year. Sida is my most common subject. I have to take her picture all the time because she is always with me.

03 04 2010 - Playing with light

This photo was taken in my bed room. I put my SB600 flash on the ground pointing up at the vase to give it a kick of light and to emphasize the bottom side of the flowers. The vase is sitting on a stool with a plain wall behind it.
